FAQs
DO WE OFFER OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY(OT)?
We do not employ any occupational therapists at our clinics. However, the term “OT” is often used as a term for “hand therapy.” We commonly see patients for hand/wrist rehabilitation at both of our clinics.
WHAT INSURANCE DO WE ACCEPT?
We are providers for Medicare, Anthem/ Blue Cross, Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, and many other PPOs. We are also providers for most workers compensation companies. We are not providers for any HMO’s or Medi-Cal.
DO WE OFFER PEDIATRIC SERVICES?
We do see children for certain orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Please call for more specific details pertaining to your needs.
DO I NEED A REFERAL TO RECEIVE TREATMENT?
In California, you’re allowed to see a physical therapist without a doctor’s prescription—this is known as direct access. Under direct access, state law allows you to be treated for up to 12 visits or 45 days, whichever comes first. After reaching either limit, a physician must review and sign off on your plan of care for treatment to continue.
Some insurance plans also require a physician’s referral or prescription for physical therapy to be covered. Because coverage varies by policy, it’s best to contact your insurance provider to confirm what your specific plan requires.
While direct access is permitted, our clinic’s best practice is to have a referral from your doctor. This helps ensure coordinated care, supports insurance authorization, and prevents any interruptions in your treatment plan.
